Here’s page 3 of an upcoming project — still not done but finally sent off the files for film. These layers show the grayscale that would be printed first, following that a second and possibly third color will be printed as well. (That’s why there’s some weird open areas in this image — it will hopefully be filled in with later color layers!)
I’m so excited for this — an 8 page comic, two to three colors, printed to the limits of my knowledge and experience on the offset machine at UArts (the rest covered by the amazing Master Printer Lori Spencer). It will be a culmination of many things. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at a graphic story, I wanted to create a story without the use of words (the only words present will be the title and colophon), and I’ll get to use my skills I’ve gained while interning at the Borowsky Center for Publishing Arts at UArts. Thank GOD it’s only going to be a simple pamphlet stitch to complete the book after printing and cutting down — I’m going to be wiped out after all that!
